FxPro on Malaysian hours: the late shift.

Kuala Lumpur keeps UTC+8 every day of the year, and Europe does not. That puts the loudest part of the currency week — the hours when London and New York are both at their desks — between roughly 21:00 and 01:00 MYT. Which leaves one genuinely local decision to make before any other: stay up, or leave the position running while you sleep and pay for the privilege. This desk is arranged around that choice.

CFDs are leveraged products and carry high risk to your capital.

The day

What the trading day looks like from here

A currency market has no opening bell — it hands over from one financial centre to the next, and Malaysia sits near the front of that queue. The Asian hours land inside a normal working day here, which sounds convenient until you notice how little the pairs most people want to trade move during them. Volume arrives with Europe and peaks when the United States joins in.

Stage of the handoverMYT — UTC+8, unchanged all year

Malaysia holds UTC+8 with no seasonal change, so these ranges slide by an hour twice a year when Europe and the United States move their clocks · checked 07/2026

Two conclusions follow, and they set the order of this page. An evening session is the natural one here rather than a sacrifice. And anyone who cannot be awake at 23:00 ends up holding through the night — where a charge waits, on the next sheet.

Price list

Three costs, and the one that only bites overnight

Pick an account type and you have picked where the cost sits: buried inside the quoted price, or itemised as commission on a much tighter one. Both sets of figures are as published by FxPro.

Account · Standard
from 1.2 pips
  • Nothing billed separately
  • You pay through the quote
Account · Raw+
from 0.0 pips + $3.50 /lot/side
  • Billed $3.50 /lot/side
  • You pay through the invoice

“Per side” means the commission lands twice, opening and closing, so one standard lot on Raw+ costs $7.00 for the complete round trip. “From” describes a floor rather than a typical figure: quoted prices widen when liquidity thins, which here means the late-morning lull far more often than the busy evening. cTrader is priced like Raw+. An inactivity fee begins after six dormant months, and leverage reaches 1:200 depending on account and eligibility, according to FxPro.

Platforms

Five platforms — and what survives a 23:00 start

All five attach to the same client portal, so the choice is reversible — add a second later without opening anything new. On this timetable the test is not the feature list. It is whether the thing you will realistically be holding at eleven at night, a phone with the lights off, can close a position as easily as the desktop opened it.

Classic
MT4

The veteran terminal, desktop and handset alike; Standard pricing starts at 1.2 pips.

Most markets
MT5

The wider instrument shelf of the two MetaTrader builds.

Depth pricing
cTrader

Order-book depth on raw quotes, with the $3.50 per-lot charge alongside.

No install
FxPro Edge

The in-house webtrader: a browser tab, nothing downloaded, nothing to update at midnight.

Charts first
TradingView

Drive the FxPro account from TradingView’s charting.

The FxPro app for iOS and Android carries the MT4 and MT5 side and rates 4.5★ on Google Play across 10M+ installs, 4.4★ on the App Store, per those listings. Practice accounts cover four of the five; TradingView is the exception. One reassurance for the sleeping half of this page: positions sit on the broker’s servers, not your handset, so a phone that dies at 02:00 interrupts your control of a trade and nothing else.

One portal: FxPro Direct

Whatever you trade on, the administrative side of the account lives in a single place — FxPro Direct, reachable in a browser or through the FxPro app. Funding, payouts, uploaded documents and every password reset happen there.

  1. Open FxPro Direct. Identical portal on a laptop and on a phone. Nothing is missing from the pocket version, which is what most people use late.
  2. Registered email address, then the password. Inside the app the password step can be replaced by a one-time code, according to FxPro — quicker than typing a long password half-asleep.
  3. Locked out? Trigger the reset from the sign-in form. It lands in the mailbox you registered with. Confirm that mailbox still opens on a quiet Sunday, not at 22:40 with a trade running.

Registration, and the documents Malaysia uses

Signing up takes minutes. Verification is the part worth preparing, because two facts have to agree with each other and with what you typed at registration.

  1. Register inside FxPro Direct using an email address you read daily.
  2. Show who you are. MyKad is the document most people here reach for; a passport does the same job. Capture the whole card in daylight with all four corners inside the frame — a clipped edge is rejected more often than slightly soft focus.
  3. Show where you live. A recent bank statement or a utility bill printed with your name and street address. It must match the address in your profile, so if you have moved since, correct the profile before uploading rather than afterwards.
  4. Choose the account, then fund it from $100. Standard hides the cost in the quote; Raw+ splits it into a tighter quote plus commission; a swap-free variant is available, according to FxPro. All three are described on the price list.
In & out

A ringgit card against a dollar account

The published floor for a first deposit is $100 by card or bank wire, with each e‑wallet setting a minimum of its own. Note the currency sign: the balance is kept in dollars, so a ringgit card or ringgit bank account is converted by the institution that issued it, at its rate on the day, plus any cross-border charge. None of that belongs to FxPro, which states it adds nothing in either direction. Money arrives first in the FxPro Wallet and moves from there onto whichever trading account you opened.

minimums and timings as published by FxPro, counted from the moment a request is processed; the $100 floor does not apply to e‑wallets, and conversion is your own bank’s business · checked 07/2026

Payouts travel back down the road the deposit came in on: card funding returns to that card, a wire to the account that sent it. That means a second border crossing, so the ringgit landing will not mirror the ringgit that left — the gap is your bank’s rate at each end.

Two protections worth knowing while you sleep: client money sits in segregated accounts, kept apart from the firm’s own, and negative balance protection means the balance cannot be pushed below zero — according to FxPro.
